The TOEFL® Test - Test of English as a Foreign Language™
The TOEFL® (Test of English as a Foreign Language™) test opens more doors than any other academic English test. More than 6,000 institutions and agencies in 110 countries rely on TOEFL scores to select students with the English skills needed to succeed. The TOEFL test covers all facets of English proficiency, including a test of spoken English.
TOEFL iBT (internet based) measures reading, listening, speaking and writing skills and takes approximately 4.5 hours. It is given on computer 30-40 times a year at test centers throughout the world.
TOEFL PBT (paper based) measures listening, structure (grammar), reading and writing and takes approximately 3.5 hours. It is given using paper and pencil 6 times a year at test centers where TOEFL iBT is not available.
