Harry K. Wong, with his wife Rosemary, are the co-authors of The First Days of School, the bestselling book ever in the history of education with over 3 million copies sold, an eLearning course on classroom management, an award-winning video series, The Effective Teacher, a monthly column on Teachers.net, and a book on New Teacher Induction.
He is the most sought after speaker in education today. Dr. Wong regards himself as a "a plain, old classroom teacher." In his over 35 years in the classroom, he developed methods which resulted in his having no discipline problems, a zero dropout rate, a 95% homework turn-in factor, and the ability to demonstrate mastery learning for each of his students. His students have won over 200 awards.

Second Speaker - Dr. Mary Howard
Dr. Mary Howard is known throughout North America as a leading expert in literacy, presenting seminars as an independent consultant and for the Bureau of Education and Research in all fifty states and across Canada. Mary has worked with countless educators to create a research-based literacy program grounded in the current brain research.
An educator for more than thirty years, she combines years of classroom experience as an elementary grade 1-6 special educator, grade K-12 reading tutor, reading specialist and Reading Recovery teacher with a multitude of experiences as a reading consultant, university reading instructor, professional storyteller, author and nationwide lecturer. Her blend of research and practical application has led many to describe her as a teachers' teacher, demonstrating a clear understanding of the realities of the classroom by translating research into practice.

Eileen Kugler is a consultant on building strong school communities—both within the school walls and beyond. She champions the benefits that diversity brings to education and works with educational leaders, teachers, parents and students around the country on increasing student achievement by developing schools where every student is empowered.
Eileen's passion for diverse schools was inspired by the education of her children at a multicultural public high school in suburban Washington, DC, with students from wide-ranging economic backgrounds and cultures, hailing from 90 nations. She brings unique credentials to her work—the polished professionals skills of an award-winning communications expert coupled with more than a decade of experience as a parent volunteer in one of the nation's most diverse schools.
Eileen's book, Debunking the Middle Class Myth: Why Diverse Schools are Good for All Kids, was rated as "essential" for "all audiences" by The American Library Association, which also listed it as "Outstanding Academic Title." It earned Book of the Year awards from The National Association for Multicultural Education and Delta Kappa Gamma, the women educators' honor society active in 14 countries.
