Important Notes

Dates and formats

Test #101 Generalist EC-4 can be taken in two different formats:

  • The paper test (offered only once every four months)
  • The online version (offered several times a week)

All the other tests in this section are offered only on the paper test

Bilingual and ESL test options

The Bilingual and ESL tests can be taken as one single comprehensive test:

  • Test # 103 - Bilingual / Generalist
  • Test # 104 - ESL / Generalist

However, Texas Teachers strongly recommends against taking the test this way.

Rather, we suggest you split the tests into 2 parts:

  • Part 1: Test #101 Generalist EC-4
  • Part 2: Test #102 Bilingual Supplemental

  • Test #154 ESL Supplemental
