This test was taken on Computer.
Study: I used the Big Yellow Book. The practice test was helpful. I recognized five questions on the actual test from the practice test. All of the information in the book was insightful. Everything was broken down for simple, basic understanding. That was the only study material I used and I passed the test the first time. Remember to answer each question as if it were a perfect world and you had all the resources.
Test: It was hard in the sense that the entire test was situation questions, but it did specify the grade level in the questions, which made answering a little easier. Read everything carefully and imagine a perfect world. Take your time and breath. You have five hours to complete the test.
This test was taken on Paper.
Study: I used the Content Certification - EC-4 (red book). I also used a couple of practice exams (workbook). The best resource I used was the EC-4 (red book) in which I would suggest to others. I would not study any differently because I study very often and thoroughly which all paid off.
Test: I found it to be constant, neither easier or harder. I would suggest to anyone to study, which is the trick to passing the test.
Study: I used Cliff's Notes. I really like this book because it has two practice tests with explanations about why each answer is or is not correct. That helped me understand what the test was really looking for.
Test: Very similar to practice tests in Cliff's Notes book. Be sure to read the questions carefully to make sure you understand exactly what is being asked.
Study: I looked over the practice test online to prepare for the test. That was a pretty good way to become familiar with the test and also to understand the types of questions they would ask.
Test: It was easier than I thought it would be. I also really liked taking it on the computer. I would recommend that to anyone comfortable with computers.
Study: I went to the TExES website to study. Read over objectives and did practice tests.
Test: Easier than expected. Remember for scenarios, teacher does most work.
Study: I took the prep class and test reviews. I would suggest taking as many test reviews until you feel comfortable.
Test: It was harder than I expected. I would tell a peer to relax and don't second guess yourself.
Study: I took the practice tests online. They were very helpful.
Test: It was easier than I expected. Take your time and re-read all possible answers.
Study: I used the "Big Yellow Book". I would study differently by not worrying about content as much but rather the whole picture.
Test: I think it was harder than expected.
Study: I bought the study guide online. I took the test twice. First time by computer, second time on paper which was much easier.
Test: It was harder than I expected. Study, study, study!
Study: I used the Texes study guide. I bought it at Barnes and Noble. Focus on the subject areas you are the weakest in. Take the practice test to help you decide where you need to study the most in.
Test: It wasn't too bad. Be confident in what you know.
